I have returneth

I won't sit around and whine about why I've been more absent lately. I'll just say, sorry, and show you the few good, happy things surrounding me right now!

gingher

Look at what my amazing mom sent me as a surprise! She searched online for the perfect pair of scissors for me. I asked her, why, you know I have like 10 pairs of scissors? and she said, yeah, but now you have a pair from me! I love her so much. They're beautiful. I'm almost afraid to use them.

3by6

Working on quilt bee blocks. I was pretty impressed when I thought to use clips to keep my strips together.

babyquilt

Really need to force myself to finish the binding on this little baby quilt. It's a surprise gift for a friend, and I probably need to get it to her before the baby is born! :)

bruise

My bruise from Courtney vs The Guy On the Bike in which Courtney Totally Wins has almost healed! Can you differentiate between bruise and freckle?

etsytreasury

My little hexagon pincushion was featured in this amazing teal-and-red treasury in honor of Sewing Machine Day (September 10th)! I'm so honored, it's full of beautiful items. You can check it out here. I really hope it makes it to the front page, I would just die!

p.s. You may have noticed I just enabled Google AdSense ads. I hate how vague they are with how much they pay, so I'm really just trying it out until I see if it's worth it. If it's going to make like $5 a year, no thanks. It would be nice if it could at least cover my monthly etsy fees, though. Anyway, I mention this because I'd like to hear your (honest) opinions on it. Super tacky? Moderate annoyance? Don't even notice? A few people on my feed use it, I've noticed. It doesn't really bother me, I just think, huh...weird. Have you used it? What was your experience?

Glad you're feeling better! I think it's that time of the summer-just as soon as I gather up a lost thread, another slips loose and I feel overwhelmed again. Thank HEAVENS for Home Ec! :) I'm thrilled I have something happy to look forward to!
*By the way, I belive the clips to keep the fabric together is genious! I use them to keep my quilt pieces together, and I must admit I felt pretty dang amazing when I discovered them, too!

Those scissors are great! Loving the print. And that quilt is going to be lovely...please share your progress.

I always have tons of bruises. That's actually not as bad as I expected it to be...since there was a bike involved!!

I am stuck at work today but I did start on my napkins last night for Home Ec, finally. I have supplies to make a few others this week, hopefully. Overtime is no good when all you want to do is seeeeew!!

hahaha, Brian, since my mom sends them to me in the mail! we always had a stash of Crown Royal bags in the pantry closet when I was growing up, I thought they were so special and expensive and I wasn't exactly sure what they were....it's really quite odd, because my mom rarely drinks, and when she does it's beer or wine. NO idea where they came from!

Girls, I'm so happy you're loving Home Ec. Stephanie, I knowww, it's like sweet, more money to buy fabric! Oh great, no time to use it...

I read your blog thru my Google Reader and I don't mind the little ads that show up at the bottom of each post. Easy to scroll right past 'em if they don't interest me... I also like the smaller size ads you're using - some blogs have larger ads at the botton of each post that are more distracting...

I say keep the google ads! You gotta do whatcha gotta do and honestly, I almost expect to see them on most blogs and I usually ignore them. I hope you can get some revenue from them. :)

I hope that Crown Royal bag came with something other than scissors. No wonder you're feeling better :)
