sunday stash #10

Wow-eee it's been a long time since I've done one of these. I promise to try to be more consistent.

Do entire quilt tops count as a stash? Yup I think so, I mean, I bought it this way. And it's made of fabrics. Fabrics that I love! For the most part...

Some of the whites are weirdly thin, some of the off-whites used are weirdly peachy, some of the solids are too shiny. But, I think once it's all quilted and washed and ready to be loved (finally), it will all come together. Poor thing.

I'm thinking a light blue solid backing (matching the color of the flowers) with white quilting. Not too traditional, but keeping it simple, right?

sunday stash #9

(on Monday, but bought Saturday/Sunday, oops)

sunday stash

After I finished my Mastery Class on Saturday, I saw the left fabric in a pillowcase kit and had to have it. Luckily they still had some left in the sale section.

When I went back on Sunday to buy additional binding fabric, I spotted the little goody on the right. Not even close to being in my general color family, but absolutely impossible to pass up.

"Accidentally" stopped by the FM store on the way home yesterday...all of this (plus two zippers) for $13! Some of that lace is definitely going to need to go up on etsy, because I can't imagine ever using it all. Unless I cover a full length gown with it. Which I kind of want to do.

And this is totally unrelated, but can I just mention how much I love my sleepy kitty?

He loves the wonky lattice quilt now that it's all washed and crinkly. Actually, some of the fabrics bled (ugh!) and it's a bit TOO crinkly for my tastes, but it's grown on me. I'm glad I made it.

sunday stash #7

The chambray is even better in person (no surprise there). I'm looking forward to cutting in to this yummy dark jewel toned group when things slow down.

<3 this corner of the house. Need to hang a couple groupings on the other side of this wall, as well...

sunday stash #6

They came Monday!

"sunday" stash

Big pic tonight because they are so <3.
Even better together in person.

But I promised myself to not cut into them until I get "everything" else finished. Which is kind of impossible right now since my quilting machine is dead (decided I'm going to save up for the Bernina!).

So for now they hang on the wall and make me so so happy every time I walk by.
Good enough!

sunday stash #5

Late with this as usual. But, an excuse! Our internet went out Saturday afternoon and wasn't fixed until yesterday evening (thanks Mark) (un-thanks AT&T the worst internet ever, wish my mom still worked for you so at least I might not have to pay as much for your crappy service).

sunday stash

Dots! Dots! Dots!

The top three are from a trip to the quilt store on Saturday with my mom (thanks momma for the fabric and the new quilty toys!). There are 5 more bins to go through before I dig out all of the dots from my stash...and the shopping continues, of course.

These are for a secret new project, or, well, just my next quilt. But I have three to finish yet so I feel guilty spending too much time on the new one!

sunday stash #4

Glad I didn't forget this weekend!

sunday stash 4

This vintage brocade was saved out of a bag of junk fabric at my (late) grandparent's estate sale over 7 years ago. I didn't even sew then, yet (though it wasn't long after I started teaching myself, using my grandmother's sewing machine), besides hand-piecing quilt blocks. I don't think I'll ever find anything good enough to use it for.

Suggestions? I would guess it's 45" wide and about a yard and a half.

sunday stash #3

It's close enough to tomorrow, right? Well, if I wait, it won't get done.

A few new goodies for the vintage sheet stash. In each image, the far right fabric is a flat sheet. The rest are pillow cases. Hard to believe so much awesome material can be had for $11.

Hmm....those pastels....I'm seeing a pretty cute baby quilt...

(last) sunday('s) stash #2

Seriously, I meant to post this last week, but the restaurant we were "borrowing" internet from went out of business. We contacted Mediacom to get our own wifi, and there is no cable signal to the building. In fact, according to one of their operators, no one in our building has ever had Mediacom internet or cable, which seems, really, next to impossible. They say there might not even be cable running down our road, which is just silly as we live on the most important East-West street that runs through the downtown area. My theory is that they're blowing us off because they're in the middle of a mainframe changeover.

The above stash is a vintage curtain panel (being converted into two non-pinch pleated curtain panels), and Kona Cotton in School Bus (I think). Check out more amazing painted florals at True Up.

sunday stash #1

At the very last moment, as I am likely to do.

sundaystash1

I'd like to call this first (of many, hopefully) Sunday Stash, "The Best $20 I Ever Spent (On Fabric. This Year. Probably.)"
I mean, come on, I can't keep track of all the twenties I spend on fabric. Ahem.

Twenty amazing discontinued FQs for a dollar a piece. Snagged from The Quilt Sampler accidentally when I was going to pick up my serger they had worked on. If you live in Springfield, near Springfield, or ever happen to be passing through, I highly recommend you pay this store a visit. It's a real joy.
